Operating segments The Group is organised into business lines, which are the Group’s operating segments and are reported to the CEO, the chief operating decision maker. These operating segments are aggregated into five segments, which are the Group’s reportable segments, based on the similar nature of products and services and the mid- to long-term structural growth drivers. When aggregating operating segments into the five reportable segments we have applied judgement over the similarities of the services provided, the wider economic impacts of the markets served within the segments, the customer base and the mid- to long-term structural growth drivers. The costs of the corporate head office and other costs which are not controlled by the five segments are allocated appropriately. Inter-segment pricing is determined on an arm’s length basis. There is no significant seasonality in the Group’s operations. Segment results include items directly attributable to a segment as well as those that can be allocated on a reasonable basis. The performance of the segments is assessed based on adjusted operating profit which is stated before Separately Disclosed Items.
